Enable Write on Selected Tracks + Fill to End
Arms write automation on selected tracks and then fills the automation curve from the current position to the end of the project.
Select one or more tracks in the arrange view that you want to automate. The macro will enable write mode on those tracks and extend any automation you've recorded to the end of your project.

Download the zip, then in Cubase open the Macro Manager, import the macro XML, and assign a key command if you like.
