What is KeyCmds?

KeyCmds is an AI-powered assistant and macro generator designed to accelerate the workflow of Cubase users. It focuses on keyboard shortcuts, macros, and the Project Logical Editor—actions you can run with single keys and key combinations inside Cubase. It combines a chat interface with tools that turn natural language requests into valid, importable XML macro files.

KeyCmds is an independent project developed and maintained by Uptown Bubble Music LLC, a music and post-production company based in New York City.

Note: Cubase is a registered trademark of Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH. This project is not affiliated with Steinberg.

How KeyCmds Helps You

KeyCmds helps you solve Cubase tasks with clear steps, suggested shortcuts, and ready-to-use macros when needed.

If your question is not clearly covered in the documentation, we consult trusted community sources and show where the information came from.

We do not guess: if confidence is not high enough, we avoid improvising and prioritize useful, verifiable answers.

Every answer is adapted to your Cubase version and edition.

Our advanced system combines context validation, response safety, and hybrid retrieval to deliver more useful and consistent answers. When official information is not enough, we use additional community signals with source transparency to keep clarity and trust.

About Uptown Bubble Music LLC

Uptown Bubble Music LLC is the creative and technical team behind KeyCmds. The company is led by Yoan Yabor, an award-winning composer, entrepreneur, music producer, and sound designer based in New York City.

Yoan is the founder of SONORO, a music production educational platform (formerly Cubase Tutoriales) for Spanish speakers, and co-founder of NOMAADA, a music production team created in partnership with composer Jose Luis Revelo.

Together, the team has collaborated with global brands such as Google, AT&T, Disney Now, HBO, The Weather Channel, Univision, CBS, Duolingo, Wells Fargo, and Netflix.

Why did we build this?

We created KeyCmds as an experiment to explore how generative AI can solve technical friction in music production. Our goal is to bridge the gap between creative intent and technical execution, allowing Cubase users to build complex automation tools without digging through menus.

A Note on AI Accuracy

One of the strengths of generative models is their adaptability. However, this means they may occasionally generate unexpected outputs or factually incorrect command mappings. While we filter the outputs to ensure high quality, we recommend reviewing generated macros before use.

Data & Privacy

KeyCmds is built with transparency in mind. We collect only what's necessary to make the platform work and improve it:

  • Your email is used only for product updates and Premium waitlist notifications. We never sell or share it with third parties.
  • The AI chat queries are processed by Anthropic (Claude) and improved using your feedback, but never linked to identifiable personal information after 90 days.
  • KeyCmds never connects to your Cubase projects, never reads your sessions, and never accesses your DAW. All file imports are manual and under your control.
  • We use industry-standard analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand how the platform is used and improve it. These can be disabled at any time.

For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
